‘For Christmas’ is the new single from Dublin-based singer, songwriter and producer Michael MacLennan.

The first release since 2019’s long-player ‘Dreamers’, ‘For Christmas’ is a nostalgic take on Christmas in 2021. After the disappointment we all felt last year with plans being abandoned last minute and loved ones disappointed, all we want this time around is to see each other and enjoy the simple things . The song features some of Ireland’s leading musicians including Aongus Ralston (The Waterboys, Picture House), Jake Curran (Niall Horan, Julia Michaels) and Tom Domican (Watson Ace).

As a side-man Michael MacLennan has performed with some of Ireland’s most prominent artists including Gavin James, Declan O’Rourke, Lisa Hannigan, Paul Brady, Mundy and Gavin Glass amongst others, and released 3 studio albums and an EP.

2016’s ‘Roaming Soul’ reached No.2 in the iTunes singer-songwriter charts upon release and received critical acclaim with Colm O’Hare of Hot Press magazine describing it as “dramatic, impassioned and epic in every sense. Breathtaking.”

‘Dreamers’ was released late 2019 and featured some of Ireland’s most prominent musicians including Jake Curran (Julia Michaels, Niall Horan, Lisa Lambe), Aongus Ralston (The Waterboys) and Shane Fitzsimons (Damien Rice, Lisa Hannigan).
